Bombings of Gaza |
Condemn U.S.-Israeli War Crimes Against Palestine! End All U.S. Funding for Israel Now! The U.S. Marxist-Leninist Organization vigorously condemns the U.S.-Israeli war crimes against Palestine, including their genocidal siege and now massive bombing against Gaza targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. It is a vicious and illegal effort to crush the resistance and will surely fail, as the firm stand and numerous demonstrations in Palestine are already showing. Israel could not carry out its actions without U.S. backing, shown directly by the use of U.S. planes and bombs to carry out this latest crime. It is U.S. political and military backing and protection that organizes and defends these Israeli actions and the illegal occupation of Palestine — making the U.S. the worst criminal. We demand the immediate end to the bombings and siege and an immediate end to all U.S. funding and backing of Israel. In the face of massive killings of civilians and attacks on civilian infrastructure, such as hospitals, pharmacies, ambulance stations, a university and more, the U.S. issued a statement saying, “In order for the violence to stop Hamas [the elected government in Gaza] must stop firing rockets into Israel, and agree to respect a sustainable and durable ceasefire. That is the objective to which all parties need to be working, and that is what the United States is working towards.” In this manner, the U.S. once again says war crimes are legitimate, while resistance is not. The people here and worldwide are standing firm: Collective punishment is not legitimate against the peoples of Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan or anywhere else — it is a crime of state terror that has no place in today’s world. The Palestinian people are an occupied people and have the right to resist occupation by any means necessary — a right sanctioned by the United Nations and international law. The Palestinians have the right to elect their own government without interference and the U.S. has no right to decide who is and is not legitimate in Palestine. The U.S. claimed that “We also remain concerned about the humanitarian situation for the people of Gaza. We ask that all parties involved allow food and medical supplies to reach the people there.” It said this being directly a part of the siege against Gaza and guaranteeing that it continue even now. The siege has imposed a massive humanitarian crisis with hundreds of people dying from lack of medicine and food. Now that it is clear that the siege cannot stop the resistance, massive bombings are used instead. The people of Palestine are standing up to these crimes with increased resistance and the world’s people are standing with them. We say All Out to Support the Resistance! The U.S. and Israel are the Terrorists! In this vital situation where defending the rights of the peoples are at stake, President-elect Barack Obama has remained silent. He is said to be “monitoring" the situation. He has given no indication that he has changed previous statements, which justified the U.S.-Israeli state terrorism in the name of "defending Israel." Democratic Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi issued a statement saying: "When Israel is attacked, the United States must continue to stand strongly with its friend and democratic ally." She said "Peace between Israelis and Palestinians cannot result from daily barrages of rocket and mortar fire from Hamas-controlled Gaza. Hamas and its supporters must understand that Gaza cannot and will not be allowed to be a sanctuary for attacks on Israel." Pelosi is thus an accomplice to the war crimes. Now is the time to step up organized resistance to the U.S. government and demand that it act to end the occupation and end all support for Israel. It is the U.S. and Israel that are war criminals and terrorists. All Out to Support the Resistance! [TOP] Protests Defend Palestine and Condemn U.S.-Israeli Crimes Against Gaza Demonstrations have erupted around the world and across the country to denounce the U.S.-Israeli crimes of bombing and siege against Gaza and all Palestinians. This morning Israel launched a massive air attack on Gaza that killed close to 200 people. This attack was carried out using American supplied F-16s, Apache helicopters, and guided missiles. Now besides a blockade causing shortage of food, medicine, fuel, electric power, and commercial goods, there has been a massacre. The UN Secretary General, the Swiss government, and other groups have called the situation a humanitarian crisis and a violation of the 4th Geneva Convention. It is surely a violation of Jewish and international law. The massacre and blockade are not only cruel and inhumane, but also counter-productive in that they fuel violence against Israel and work to undermine efforts to achieve peace through negotiations. LA Jews for Peace urges everyone to speak out against the attack and blockade, including our own government's support of it. We call for an immediate cease-fire and a resumption of shipments of food and medical supplies to the people of Gaza, a hold of U.S. aid to Israel until the blockade is ended, and admittance of journalists to Gaza to report on the desperate conditions. 12/30: Louisville, Kentucky: Rally Tuesday, December 30, 12 noon 12/30: Minneapolis, Minnesota: Protest Protests at Senator Amy Klobuchar and Congressman Keith Ellison's offices 12/30: New Brunswick, New Jersey: Rally Tuesday, December 30 4:00-6:00 pm 12/31: New Haven, Connecticut Wednesday, December 31, 12 noon 12/28 New York City, New York: Protest Emergency Protest to Stop the Massacre in Gaza We must act now, before the massacres continue! Over 200 people were killed in Gaza on Saturday, December 27 in a series of Israeli attacks — with US-made and paid for weaponry — upon the Palestinian people. These cold-blooded killings come on top of a siege on Gaza that has killed hundreds by depriving them of medical care, deprived Gazans of electricity, power and fuel and attempted to strangle the life of the Palestinian people in Gaza. The people of Gaza are standing steadfast in the face of these massacres but our voices must be heard to demand an immediate end to the massacres and an end to US aid to Israel! The Israeli military is promising more massacres - we must say no NOW! All Out to Protest the Massacres in Gaza!
